Who is Robson Denian Mateus

I was born in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, and spent part of my childhood in Criciúma. At age 8, I moved to Brusque, a city where I grew up, built friendships, lived through defining moments, and formed the foundations of who I am today.

It was in Brusque that I discovered my passion for photography. Between 2004 and 2005, a friend who worked for a magazine covering city events invited me to photograph an event. In that moment, something awakened inside me. For the first time, I saw the power a photograph has to tell stories, convey emotions, and eternalize moments.

From that day on, a passion was born that only grew with time. I began to study, practice, and constantly seek knowledge. The more I learned, the more certain I became that photography would not be just a hobby, but a fundamental part of my life.

In 2016, I began one of the most important chapters of my story. Alongside my wife Aline and our son Sebastian, who was just 2 years old, we left Brazil to start a new life in London. Like many immigrants, we arrived carrying dreams, expectations, and the willingness to work hard to build a better future for our family.

The early years brought challenges, adjustments, and immense learning. Building a career in a new country required courage, persistence, and faith. But every obstacle overcome only strengthened my determination to keep doing what I love.

It was in London that I definitively turned my passion into my profession. Over the years, I've had the privilege of photographing people from different cultures and nationalities, capturing incredible stories, and building a solid career based on trust, dedication, and love for photography.

Today, looking back, I see that every stage of my journey had a purpose. Balneário Camboriú was my beginning. Criciúma shaped my childhood. Brusque is where I discovered my vocation. And London became the place where I turned a dream into reality.

More than photographing people, my work is about preserving stories. Because I believe some moments pass in seconds, but a photograph has the power to make them live forever.
